The film was conceived during the seventh month of the Lunar calendar (Hungry Ghost Festival). In the midst of burning effigies and as fires consumed the forests of Indonesia, An Invocation to the Earth confronts climate collapse through the lens of pre-colonial folk tales and animistic rituals. The video is dedicated to fallen environmental defenders in the hope they may repossess us with their spirit.
