Once the heir to a family Shinto shrine, young Junya left town and drifted away from his family. An encounter with Sara, a dancer born on the same day as he did, leads him back to his place of origin, where he has to confront his family history, reconnect with his childhood and reconsider the promise he cannot fulfil.

Inspired by the personal story of Junya and the wintry coast of Noto Peninsula, where the harsh winter has a powerful effect on coastal landscapes and the lives of people living there, this soul stirring hybrid documentary combines elements of dance, documentary and fiction focusing on Junya’s voice to recount his relationship with his grandfather, just as Sara uses her body movements as a conduit to express Junya’s melancholy and deep memories of the land.
